1. 10 Learnings from 10 Years of Brain Pickings
Brain Pickings’ Maria Popova is a collector of (old and new) wisdom applied to the struggles of our time and generation. An unfolding record of [her] intellectual, creative, and spiritual development, Brain Pickings is a stock of knowledge and interestingness. It is one of the prime examples of authentic creation that transcends the common categories society has in store for us. 10 Learnings from 10 Years of Brain Pickings is a reflection on that journey and offers practical guidance for a life well-lived.
2. Patagonia Fleece Vests
There seems to be a prevailing fashion item among Silicon Valley tech investors: Fleece Vests from Patagonia. Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, simply wanted to make great products for people in love with the outdoors. What he also got is hipsters and billionaires across the world buying his stuff to feel better about themselves (very much including… me). While it makes the founder’s stomach churn (as he has stated in various interviews), it nevertheless is a perfect example of how radical authenticity leads to (economic) success.
Enjoy your weekend with friends and family,
