Hey, this is Shari. I’ve hacked into 3-Things Friday and I’m calling it a guest post. (Thank you Rupi!)

1. Ted Talk
“Say your truths and seek them in others” by Elizabeth Lesser
One of the most courageous, most vulnerable things you can do is open up to others, dropping all pride and defensiveness. Breaking down your own protective barriers and reaching out with honesty might be weird, scary and not the “cool” thing to do in our current, complicated framework of social etiquette, but it’ll probably make your list of regrets a lot shorter at the end of the day ;)
2. Podcast
On Being with Krista Tippett: "Sharon Salzberg and Robert Thurman — Meeting Our Enemies and Our Suffering”
As we look back at 2016, a year that has in John Oliver’s words “been an uncommonly shitty year”, here’s another podcast by the spiritual angel that is Krista Tippett and her conversation with two legendary Buddhist teachers (one of them is Uma Thurman’s dad btw). She talks about how “so much pain and suffering is caused by the nearer outer enemy - the people close to us”. Fostering harmonious connections between each other is becoming more and more important, especially in a time where so much hatred and misunderstanding is bread and amplified through the speed of social media. I’ve always liked the saying “Be kind; everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle”. And that should be all that really matters in the end.
3. Song
Gerry Rafferty - Right Down The Line
Since I’d call this one a hippie-3-things Friday, I hope this song brings the desired amount of california dreaming to your day.
Have a great weekend <3,
