Success: Be a “Stehaufmännchen”
Yesterday, I received a call from our water kefir production partners. In essence they told me about problems that have come up with another client (their first water kefir client, we would be the second) during set up of the production process. Once again, it was confirmed that making water kefir on scale is not the easiest endeavor to embark on. They would need a few weeks to figure things out they said. For a few minutes, I felt like losing the ground under my feet. Is anyone able to get this done? Is it maybe still impossible? Then I remembered that this is not only completely normal but even a good sign: You’re most likely onto something when things are hard — when solutions are not around the corner. Making water kefir on scale is definitely possible, it’s just a question of how and when. So what is the pretty safe recipe for success? You have to behave like a “Stehaufmännchen”: Just get up on more time than you fall. Failure and setbacks are integral parts of any important journey. Get nervous when things are too smooth ;)
Failure: The Biggest Fight
Thing 1 this week brings me to thing 2: The Biggest Fight. The biggest fight is the fight against yourself. Not enough financial resources is seldom the problem when things fail. Rather, a lack of personal or emotional resources will make you fail. Doubt, insecurities, lack of self-awareness, greed, unresolved conflicts, emotional stress, not knowing what success looks like for you and many more things will lead to failure. In order to get the things you want, you gotta start with yourself. I tend to forget about that all the time.
